...and it's surprisingly good. Got a Mondeo for the next 3 months whilst I wait for the company Alfa 159 to be delivered and I was expecting it to be rubbish. However, it's makes a nice change to have the ability to cruise up to 90 mph without having to turn up the radio or not hear your passenger. And I don't have to avoid potholes. Awesome.
I must be getting old.

By the same token, go a while driving a "normal" motor then got out in the Lotus (or in my case the Snot) - it blows yer facking mind!
Having a more run of the mill & realistic tintop now makes me appreciate the 7 all the very more - before, it was all to easy to walk past the Snot & take the RS6 for a blooter
Wonder how Renmure manages?

Everytime I get in the drivers seat of the Scenic I want to fall asleep. All I can think off is how much fun I would be having if I were in the Lotus.
Then I get to a set of lights, and a twat in a 3 series beemer grins and blasts away...and I wish I was in my Lotus, again.
Then on the odd occassion I take out the XKR. Yup, this is nice. Until you come to corner that is, and your foot hits the breaks, and you are waiting on that lotus sensation of throwing yourself around the exciting bend, but it doesnt happen. Bland, boring and unconnected.
I cannot enjoy other motors at the moment, I love the Elise too much - everything is fun in it

I remember coming back from both 3000+ miles Alps tours in the Se7en and finding the tin-top undriveable at first...
Clutch pedal had zero resistance. Touched brake pedal and nearly went through screen. Steering wheel felt like it was no longer attached to the column, so light and feel-less was the steering.
...and then I changed radio channels when I meant to operate the indicators

Have to confess that I am enjoying the CLK more than anything at the moment, 90% of the time with the roof down, and heated seats on full tilt. It certainly isn't sporty but just seems to waft along rapidly, effortlessly and comfortably.rossybee wrote:

When i put the Elise back in the garage after a run (and before, Westfield)
i would drive home in the BMW 330d. It feels like a Maybach!
(Garage is 5 miles away from my home by the way)

Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'
