seems a good price for genuinely rare car.

There is a cheaper one, but it has more mileage. 2 listed within 2 days of each other.... mental.

is this the one that was at the Tut Towers trackday this year?

I've never heard much about these cars - you would imagine they're like a 135R but with a lot more poke.

Trouble is that if they're the VHPD then I think you need a rebuild every 25K - the forged pistons don't last that long - probably less of an issue if you don't spend your life on the rev limiter ... anyway, plenty of people on here must have VHPDs, so they'll know.

However, at those prices, I would guess it's a toss up between buying one and upgrading the 135R to a similar spec ...

Cheers,
Robin

ps I remember when Nick Adams invited me down to Lotus in 2002 that they were building the first of the S2 190's, and he was very enthusiastic about it.

Received this e-mail from Rob reference his car.

tut

"hi tut,

great to hear from you; i hope you're keeping well (or keeping the local nurses fully occupied!)

thanks for the feedback, much appreciated

if anyone from S_E shows an interest, X 20TUS is running really well at the moment; both Max and Tim at Lakeside Engineering have offered to vouch for it - having just 'C' serviced it - feel free to call 01932 340003

i can also take the car to Rockingham Speedway on Sunday 25th November for viewing and pax rides, not too far to travel from the Borders... i would need to know in advance though as i'm currently taking Mandy's VX 220

and, of course, the price is negotiable for friends ;-)

all the best, Rob"
