NLC - Nintendo Wii

I'm thinking about buying a Nintendo Wii as an Xmas pressie.

As most of you will know, there doesn't seem to be any in stock anywhere.

Any pearls of wisdom of the best way of getting hold one... other than paying over the odds on Ebay!

Any advice appreciated.

glad you like it also glad that it will go to use as it would be bad of me to have on in the cupboard and people couldnt get one.

What I did last week was to phone game in Aberdeen Bon-Accord center at 9am to see if they had any coming in, which they did. Put my name against one and picked it up later that day. Getting through is the problem and getting lucky with the timing.

Cheers mate,only been on it for a couple of games ,and its great.I am sure it will get WELL used.

Talking of Wii, anyone got Mario Galaxy? Absolutely mind bendingly intense! very cool game, the gravity physics are awsome, and the levels most original I have ever played.

One other thing, it has now gone to the top of the "Greatest games of all time" chart, which bring the total number of Nintendo games in the top 10 to 5...

I have always said Nintendio make the best games by a long shot.

There was an article on the news and they reckon you can get them throughout Europe due to the lack of interest.

Only real problem is the mains cable and getting a shop abroad to dispatch, however might be worth looking into.

I think amazon.de get seem to get them fairly regularly.

Other than that, get yourself into various shops and aski when they are getting them, if you can reserve one, and if you can, find out how many people are infront of you in the reservations.

The BBC news on Friday covered the story; saying there are certain German websites that can supply to the UK.

Otherwise, sus out when a store gets it's weekly delivery; nad be there for opening time. I know of someone who has been going round the stores doing this in order to get one. Ended up chasing the delivery truck between branches of Argos. Got one in the end. All sounds like a bit too much effort to me!

Final option; ebay & pay over the odds.

LOL, that chart is pretty awful tbh, 3 of the top 10 are pretty much Half Life 2

The this is, it's totally unbiased and goes purely on average scores from hundreds of resrouces. In the same way Rotten Tomatoes awards a film its points. Fairest way to rate the games, and a great indication of a classic. Every game in the top ten is gaming bliss, and half life 2 is my favourite PC game by a long shot.

Belfast.... they've got them. The guy that owns the company Mrs.G works with is bringing some over on 22nd Dec when he comes to the X-mas night out. A few of the birds in his company are after a Wii and couldn't get them... he walked up the city centre in Belfast and found loads...

So, maybe you could try some Irish websites?
