OK, so I appear to having my annual pondering session about what I might want to do next in terms of career etc... not definitely decided to change but feel like increasing my options for the future .....
considering obtaining an IT certification or two.... just wondering if anyone out there who has a better idea of the market could suggest what qualifications are most sought after and job possibilities etc. etc....
current favourites are cisco and/or java .... a waste of time?!?...
anyway... any and all comments welcome....
Cheers!
Dave.

On paper a CISCO router qualification is a money spinner, but you then have the age-old problem of no experience. Guess it depends on what you do just now and where you could go with the qualification.
My mate has just done his CISCO exams in Govan of all places, can give you his details if you want his view on the course ?

Dave, Visual Science just went into administration so you won't have a problem finding a C/C++ programmer in Dundee just now!

Si, Ralph told me that last week, the venture capitalists that invested in his firm i-Design, also put some money in Visual science, he told them not to bother, and hey look what happened, all becase they lost one contract!

Yeah Meadowmill, the epicentre of Dundee, still haven't worked out where your mill is!!
I have to say it is a refreshing change from the hussle and bussle of Edinburgh!

Is it your Audi parked outside then? SL53?
When you turn in from west henderson's, go up past meadow mill, over the speed bump and my place is on the right, Douglas Court. Just across the road from the quality food establishment, the Sunshine Shop

Si,
Where the fook do you park your car then, never seen it!
Anyway, more importantly I have only been into the Sunshine place once, asked for something simple like a cheese roll, i.e something the could not fook up, and they did, it had alike 5 inches of butter on it!
No but seriously, you and rossatron can let Scotty or anyone else know that there is a C++ job programming job here and the other place i mentioned that you had applied to! get them to get in touch if they are needing something. Probably already sorted tho.
Cheers,
Dave

I don't park my car here, I get the train in.
The sunshine shop is pish, you get loads of butter or none. I stopped going there once the owner stopped asking me what I wanted and just made it when I walked in. That's gratitude for you

Also, since my office is above Step-Up Dundee, a place which claims to help "individuals who have challenging behaviour" I decided I didn't fancy leaving the car outside for more than 30 secs.

There is a car park outside our Mill which is cool, its all meant to be permit but my boss says he hasn't seen one parking dude yet!
Safe enough, give you an excuse to drive the beastie every day! How the hell do you get up to the mill everyday and down to the station at night?

I use this new thing called walking

There's another reason I can't take the car. I've posted about it before but at my old flat, a neighbour took offence to me marking out my parking space. He ripped out the parking post I'd put in and the police were involved as there was a witness. Anyway, he works behind the mill I'm in so I can't leave the car here in case he takes the opportunity to damage it.
