In Sept, i was caught on the A1 - new dual carriageway between Hadding ton & Dunbar.
I had my Road Angel & was invincible ! - cruising at 95.12mph on a 70mph Motorway.
& the traffic caught me on VASCAR.
It's been sent to the procurator fiscal in Haddington.
Next Monday.
It was dry, Sunny & Quiet road..... if this helps my case?
What do you reckon?
David
PS - I was in a Hire Car - Vauxhall Astra !

The fact that its gone to court suggests it wont be 3 points and £60.
My guess is 4 if not 5 with around about £100 fine.
Good Luck!

Brian must have had a lucky escape then!!
Guess it all depends on whether the Magistrate is having a good day or not!

It'll probably be a means tested fine so you'll need to plead poverty. Maybe 4 points

Definately more than 3/£60 if it's going to court. But it is under the ton so prob no ban. (I got 28 day ban and £350 fine ten years ago for 104 on the A74(M))

The copper told me the cut off for a fixed penalty was 95mph.
I was doing 95.14mph on the charge notice.............
Currently on 6 points & i have got 3 points on my Northern Ireland Counter part (Separate piece of paper)
Don't know if it's linked to the licence number for them to find out about it.
Hope not....

Indeed I did, they were, as I said, charming and so impressed with my car control skills that even at average 97, max 99, they made it a fixed penalty

Northern Ireland is part of the uk tho...so they might know about it

you might be lucky.
I was done 4 years ago for doing 123 on an empty motorway (sunny and dry), got charged with dangerous driving a 2 year ban and a £600 fine. First offense.
My mate was caught 1 year ago doing 113 at 2 in the morning on an empty motorway and got charged with dangerous driving an 18 months ban and a £1000 fine. He already had 9 points on his lisence.
I know you weren't over 100 but they have been clamping down on speeding. Hope you get off lightly tho.

Oh jeez that's appalling.
<insert a rant about the patent imbalance within our justice system where speeders are one of he few categories of law breakers where the courts only motivation is to punish with no interest in the consequences of the law breaker's actions on society.>

While I might have posted about my thoughts on speeding in 30mph areas I do agree that the Justice system is pretty crazy when it comes to the punishment for speeding offences listed above. Personally I can think of many other crimes which I feel are more serious and/or anti social and these often attract minor fines which are no real deterant.
