Fuel Protest Tomorrow....

Post by DDtB » Fri Dec 14, 2007 6:02 pm

FYI ... some roads to avoid tomorrow morning from Hamilton to Grangemouth!

I'm sure these protests will cause ministers in London lots of inconvenience...

Quite Frankly, we need some sort of action to let the government know how hacked off everybody is getting at fuel prices. We have already passed the psychological price point of £1 per litre, and like lemons we are all accepting it. Is it going to be £2 before anybody pays any attention.

Cars are getting more economical every day, but the driver isn't getting any advantage from better economy, just the government propping up their figures with the extortionate level of tax on fuel.

Time for an Elise cavalcade on the motorway!!!!

Rant over, back to the laphroig!!

I'm all for a good protest me.... but, for example, why not get 30 trucks to go from downing st to parliament at 1mph and make Gordon late for prime minister's questions instead of clogging up west central scotland on a saturday when most folk are off work and trying to get on with their lives in the small amount of free time they get... Maybe then he'd take notice although all he'd probably do is complain the congestion is getting worse and ban all cars/trucks from london except for MP transport ones.... and while we're on the subject of Gordon, can someone please tell him to stop sucking in his bottom lip between sentences... it's very bloody irritating....

All the protest is going to do tomorrow is annoy the locals.... the 'government' in londinium won't give a damn and most will probably just ignore the fact the protest took place imho...

I'm dangerously close to being sensible and having an adult conversation here so I'm off downstairs for a large Jura and a game of xbox instead... :P

Only way to make them sit and notice is to vote the feckers out.

From BBC
"The number of vehicles taking part in the protest was restricted to 30 by police forces along the route.

A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said: "We are aware of the protest involving a number of heavy goods vehicles.

"We are working to ensure this has a minimal impact on the public, whilst recognising the legitimate right of lawful protest."

Surely the point is to create maximum disruption???
