My number plates fallen off!!

Post by Brigita » Fri Dec 21, 2007 11:06 am

Hey guys - just a quick question... I've just realised my number plate has fallen off! Great!!

I've noticed a few of you have smaller ones than the standard size.. where do you get these from?

Not sure where to get one, i'd imagine any place that can make a vanity/display plate would do it.

Probably worth noting that it is illegal though, if the police see you, they may pull you (I read somewhere that they were cracking down on it in Aberdeen) and you can receive a fine (and possibly even points now?) for it.

You could always drill the holes a bit lower in the new plate so that it sits slightly higher off the ground (ie, an inch higher up the front grill). Mine's appears to be offset a little like that.

I must have done that subconciously when I was swapping the private plates over, coz I don't remember meaning it...

I've run without a front plate for 4 years now and not a single pull.

Keep it in the boot, just in case.

Seriously doubt it if you're a) cute and b) have the plate in the boot anyway.

Which means I'm stuffed on point a) but might swing b ;)

11000 miles this year without one and the entire FF6 - not a bit of bother.

Shug "in not pulling for 4 years shocker!" - you should take some tips from young Paine
