2008 resolutions/goals

Post by ryallm » Mon Dec 31, 2007 11:31 am

End of the year is nigh, so just wondering what resolutions or goals y'all have for 2008. Things I really want to do next year:

- Use and enjoy the Exige more - did a lamentably low mileage in 2007.

- Get my formation skydiving qualification (off jumping in Florida in 3 weeks time :D ).

- Skydive amongst big mountains (trip to Switzerland booked for June)

- Get up to the Highlands more often for kayaking/walking - always find the Scottish mountains and coastline a tonic for the soul.

- Get my swimming fitness back - spent most of this year nursing a shoulder injury.

- Juggle all the above to make as much time as possible for my wee boy Max - he'll be 2 this time next year so it is a special time.

Needless to say work doesn't figure too highly on my priority list :)

I think everybody will relate to making better use of free time. I plan to re-focus (dump useless cars & free some money) to getting the Elise back to the top of it's game and then do two or three big events this year.

Le Mans is a priority.

v. impressive indeed mate...

For me, its looking like the beginning of this year is going to be better than the fecking mess at the beginning of 2007 which did get a whole lot better

This year is going to be a year tying up loose ends...
-Constructing a garage at my new house is a must for '08
-Finishing my part-time Uni course (which has been on hold for over a year)
-Keeping the elise away from garages (other than getting a service!)
-Spending more time with family and friends in Scotland instead of over on the emerald isle!

anyway, hope you all have a good one
All the best in 2008! :cheers

Well in 2007 I ......
- left my gf of 6 years
- sold our house and bought myself a flatin glasgow
- changed job
- didnt use my VX enough
- spent too much money on lawyers
- got a bit fatter

In 2008 i intend to.....
- start my new for '08 job and stay in it more than 2 mins
- spend less money on lawyers*
- spend more time in vx
- get fit (which means more time on MTB VXJON!)
- ensure i (ahem) make the most of new gf
- go to more trackdays / autotests / SE beers events

I'm thinking 2008 should be a cracker 8)

* taking my old employer to a tribunal might not help this
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Right at this moment in time Derek and I would like to feel like we belong in this world instead of being stuck with lemsip, paper hankies and anadin extra in our hands! We've certainly ended 2007 on a low (been in bed ill since the 27th), so hopefully tomorrow and the rest of the year can only get better! :D

1) Use the 7 more or sell it
2) Ring or Spa
3) Spend less time on here
