Scottish Elises

Anyone know of any good offroading tracks in the Aberdeenshire area. Me and a couple of my mate just drive around at the moment looking for muddy tracks and hills to get up but havn't found anywhere decent yet. Don't know how legal what we've been doing is but we havn't broken or damaged anything while we've been doing it . I'm not looking for anything thats to hard as I've only got a little Suzuki Vitara with chunky tyres just now but I'll give almost anything a go. Will be looking to change up to an old disco or defender at some point when funds let me.

I know there are a couple of offroaders on here...anyone help me out?

Well Nortrack has basically closed down so that option is out of the window

The only real option is the BORDC who run monthly trials offroad

However a little Vitara on chunky tyres is more able then you would think

We used to go to Fetteresso forest (beside Stonehaven) on our dirt bikes and there was a 4x4 area there but they get really arsey about anyone using the place outwith club events. It can also spoil things for the clubs if people start using places without permission so bear that in mind. I ended up joining the Bon Accord club and competing in Enduro events at Fetteresso, you meet lots of like minded people and get to play with permission! They don't do enduros there anymore, not sure of the reasons or where they stand with 4x4's these days.

One of the reasons I gave up dirt bikes was due to the constant hassle no matter where you go. I've been to countless great areas all over Scotland but the only place (not counting tracks) I'm aware of that you can go on bikes with permission is the Sidlaws - not sure about 4x4 though.

Over the years, I've been attacked by a farmer with a pitch fork, struck across the back by an old git with a walking stick, called a fcuk idiot by dog walkers who walked passed me (after I'd had a nasty crash that they witnessed) and left me lying there, on my own, under my bike, unable to lift it off myself due to a broken collarbone and wrist...and yes, we would stop for walkers, stay away from touristy/family areas and generally be considerate of other people but it doesn't matter, you're still branded as the scum of the earth.
