Parts ordered

Finally after moaning about it for months I have called up Lotus to buy some parts:

Clutch trunion kit - to kill that clutch squeek
Anti Rattle Buffer Pads - to kill the brake rattle noise
Door lock screws - weird, but I am missing some screws for the door locks

Parts won't be with me until next Tuesday.

This weekend jobs will be removing the rear grills to rub them down and respray black. Need to drill the screws out tho and they are well and truely rusted in.

This should cure all my knocks and squeeks ready for Tut Towers and my monster drive to Le Mans.

Need to order some legal number plates as I don't want another £30 fine when on route to the above. Illegal ones will be staying on for now.

Si, do you only notice the squeeks when the Mrs is sitting in the passenger seat?

If so, some gaffer tape will do the trick! :D

She's a fool....

G, if you've got a dremel or similar, just cut the heads off the grill bolts. then push the rawlnuts through and they'll fall out the clam the first time you take a corner. Drilling out will work to the point that the rawlnuts start to spin - then you'll be swearing at them for hours...

Make sure you've got rawlnuts to replace them - you can't just screw into the fibreglass and the old ones will be stuffed if you've got bolts rusted into them!

Also with the grills, make sure you undercoat them with a rust inhibitor (Halfrauds) after the sand down and before using a good quality paint (smoothrite or the like) I recently did mine quick and easy - they literally were just as rusty as before after the first drive. No exaggeration!
