M9 Standing Water Claims Another Victim

Post by ngaff1 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:15 am

Back of 3pm this afternoon, on M9 just after turn off for Uphall/FRB there's a slight incline. Often some water running across the road but it must have been a bit deeper today. :(

Started to spin, tried to correct but soon realised that all hope was lost and had to let it go it's own way. Spun a couple of times before bouncing off the near side barrier (thankfully it held rather I dropped to the road below) spun another couple of times and hit and came to a stop on the centre reservation barrier.

Was very lucky as there were no other cars for about half a mile behind me.

Front clam has had it, as have the two wheels (one snapped), not sure about the door and rear clam.

Steve Walker here I come!

Feel sorry for ya Neil... At least no one was hurt, but that's probably not going to make you feel any more positive right now.

Ouch...hate to see that.

Not often you get a clear stretch of motorway to do that at 3pm, so I suppose that's luck in a could've been-much-worse-kinda-way :?

Neil,

Absolutely gutted for you mate and know how you feel. But the great thing is that you are safe and that the car will get fixed.

Take care,

Ken.

This is beggining to get me worried, with all these accidents happening. If i am correct thats three cars in the last four weeks that have spun on wet roads. :thumbsdown

I stay in Linlithgow and I've had a couple of moments just there. Least your in one piece and as Bertie said, maybe lucky that the road wasn't too busy given the time of day.
