I have a 2010 Planet Ocean (42mm - I think) which I may need to sell. Would any of the resident watch gurus be able to give me an idea what the going rate for one is?
Nice watch :)

Around £2-2.5k secondhand with box & papers - Probably be due a service in the next 12-18 months, so someone may haggle a few hundred off for that. Trade in price would be considerably less (50-60% of secondhand  )

Private - Obviously much care advised / handover in person preferred:

Chrono24
eBay (if you're very careful)
Watch U Seek sales forum

Trade:

Dom @ Hackett Watches
Watchfinder (reports of v. low p/x prices, though!)

Omega is gone - boo, but I still need something that looks a bit fancy for formal wear as my beater is a Tag F1, not really appropriate with a shirt etc.

Steinhart seem to get a good write up but look a little to much in the rolex homage vein. Anything else worth looking at for around £350?

Cheers.

I really like the look of these - been following their story and they get excellent reviews. The current limited edition one is a cracking looking watch imho.

I was going to suggest a CW C5 Malvern Auto. I have white/steel/black-leather as my formal watch, and it's a lovely thing. From memory it was in the £350-400 ballpark.

I've had a Chris Ward C11 for a few years now. Still love it (although it did have to go back for a movement repair which too nearly 8weeks - albeit all under warranty.)

I also just received 2 vouchers from them :
One for £50 off if spending > £300 (I think - currently sitting in a plane so can't check)
One for £100 off if spending > £500

I'm not looking to buy any watches at this point.....

Also wear it with a superengineerII bracelet, which could have been designed for the C11 (but wasn't)

Thrown a bid in for a CW on eBay, will see how we get on.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It seems quite a lot of options at this price point.

Thanks Ferg/graeme. C11 isn't made any more - so they obviously weren't popular enough. :D

Checked my vouchers - they are effectively promo codes that can be applied by anyone on the ChrisWard website to make a purchase. Valid until 31-Oct-16.

100UK16 will get you a £100 discount if spending more than £500
50UK16 will get you a £50 discount if spending more than £300

Like all CW vouchers, you'll see some chancers in eBay selling them for less than face value. Ignore. It's only the codes above that are needed.

Also consider some of the cheaper Swatch group brands - Hamilton & Certina.

I'm still really happy with my Hamilton Khaki Auto - Valjoux 7750 movement (as fitted to much more expensive stuff - Breitling / Panerai / Omega etc, albeit decorated / tweaked and in COSC form) and has a decent metal & leather strap to swap around.
