Yeah - therein lies your issue TBH. Pretty much anything that isn't an eBay job is serious money as far as I could find - so I went with the thought of buying one from the 'bay and accept it's not gonna last 20 years. The Time Tutelary one I've got running just now has lasted well over 6 months - but was cheap enough that when it dies I won't be too fussed about just buying another.

Just lend your watches to Dodgy Dave, three watches on his right arm and he would happily keep them full wound for you when you were not using them.

I meant to update this at the time, but I ended up picking up a couple of Christopher Ward watches. I was prompted to post about them as they currently have a sale on the old logo models.

Anyway, I picked up a C60 300 43mm (quartz) and a C3 Malvern 39mm. TBH, for the money they feel like real quality items. The only complaint I have about the C60 is that the bracelet feels a little light, but other than that I'm really quite pleased with them. I especially like the Malvern and end up wearing it most days.

Here are the two I bought:

Some bloody nice watches on here. 8)

On the other end of the scale, I've been thinking about getting an everyday rugged hard wearing every day watch this in particular.

Casio G-Shock mudmaster GWG-1000MH-1AER

Not 100% yet as there's so many G-Shocks to choose from.

Wow mesmerising! As someone who is scared sh*t by spanners and spannering the thought of doing something like this is a nasty bloody scary nightmare. Fascinating though to see the complexity, workmanship etc. that goes into these watches and their mechanisms. Thanks for posting.

So a year ago after looking about a bit, i settled on a new Rolex Air King.
Didn't start liking Rolex but this was stainless steel so usable all the time, don't like Rolex cyclops - no date so ok and had a bit of colour in face (some say too much colour and fonts)
Anyway my 'best friend' glasgow dealer promised one in 3 months or sooner, didn't think that would be the case but I can wait, 2nd dealer says can't promise you but if you put your name down you are no 3, no strings attached, didnt as trusted other dealer.
1st dealer remembers my name every time I chase but I'll just take you details again anyway, hmmm
After 3 months go to other shop, saying what is the situation i'm serious, lost faith in other dealer, so yes we can put you down as a serious buyer, we had 1 watch in, 3 waiting now. Sounds good I'm happy but then I'm told you need to place a non refundable deposit so if I do get a watch anywhere else, you will keep my deposit even if there are others interested, Yes sir, WTF.

So 1 year later 'best friend' still hasn't contacted me, also thinking Air King may not be what I want now.
Rant over I'm not worthy of buying a watch from you :?

Anyway, can someone confirm the real life using size of Panerai PAM 25, think Mr Boag may have one or a similar model. Says 44mm case didn't think it would be as big as that, things like Omega Planet Ocean are too big and bulky for my wrist.

Used PAM25 with waffle face look nice in pics, not sure all variations of pam25 as well as similar 24/24? Etc but it might suit my needs, waterproof, bezel, can change look with straps, issue might be size and any hope of trialing one before I buy

Also I'm right handed but wear watch on right hand is that a problem with the winder thing ?

So over to the SE watch experts.

Have you tried on Chrono24? I'd be surprised if what you want isn't immediately available on there.

On the panerai front, you can buy them with a LH crown.
