....yep, I know how good the Walshy days are and will hopefully arrange one at some stage this year. It's expensive though and a pain-in-the-ass to get to (no, I'm not suggesting it's not worth it).

Are there any alternatives closer to home?

Didn't some experienced SE'er talk about doing some kind of driving training?? I'm sure there would be a fair amount of demand and people would be prepared to spend the money for some expert advice / tuition etc.

McApe was talking about doing it, the problem is finding a suitable cheap and large open tarmaced area to use.

I've been looking at a Walshy day myself but it is a long way away and something closer
would really appeal. Would certainly be up for it if there was more local driver training.

Castle Kennedy is a good shout - not too far and some good roads en-route as
already mentioned.
