Sanjoy, Bill at Greersport comes highly recommended from a mate of mine who had his 1000bhp 'liner serviced there, and his RS200. Not had a chance to speak to Bill myself for a while, so would be interested to hear what he's got to say about servicing for Lotus.

Cheers,

Greg

To be honest Greg that is the sort of recommendation I am looking for to take my car but am Edin based so would want to stay over this side of Livi.

Go on Brunty you you know you want to.

Ewan Rutherford owns Monktonhall garage, not Manor Garage

Manor called on the way home, expect it to be £200+ to change brake fluid and change the matrix. Total piss take.
Falklands bending over backwards, reckon it would be about 60 defo less than 100 inc vat.

I use Kenneth Brown in Hillington (Glasgow). He's OK, seems to know what he is doing (someone on here reccomended him ages ago), often has loads of tasty stuff in, and a few race cars (single seaters and Rally cars).

I've used Falkland for a geo in the past and I'd use them all the time if they were closer (I'm in Kilmarnock). Seemed reasonably priced and the guy seemed really keen.

MMC are sh*t. Over priced and atrocious service. I wouldn't mind paying if they were ace but I get better service elsewhere for much less cash. I can rent a car and still be hundreds up - Europcar (I think) will even drop off a rental for you perfect for a courtesy car if you need it.

Pete

PS Any chance of making this an exhaustive list of independent garages Scotland wide, and suppliers come to think of it then make it sticky?

Ended up going to GW Martin in Morningside simply because of proximity. £150 inc VAT. Initially was only going to be £50 exc VAT for the brake fluid change.

Initially went to them for a MOT on recommendation from Lawrence and due to the good service returned for the labour.

Took my car in on Monday and they were very up front and said they could not work on it until Friday but would be ready by lunch time on Friday. They offer to take it and garage it till then if I wanted. I dropped it off on the Thursday and got my call on Friday at 12:00 to let me know the car was ready.

Only gripe was that the front bonnet hinge is a bit wonky now but to be honest it was rusty as hell and previously bodged.

I would use them again but not for and serious "Lotus" work where I would imagine Falklands would be called.
