Dozy daughter (age 9) of mine is always forgetting where she puts things, so recently was asking us if we'd seen her iPod shuffle (bought in New York by her mother only in March ) which we hadn't...

Wife then realised it was in her jean pockets, which had been through a full wash cycle, and then done the full hot job in the tumble drier...

I thought it would've been donald ducked but thought neh, don't give up that easy, stick it on charge & see what happens... well, the wee fecker only works!!!

What's the chances of that?

I dropped my nano in the dog's water bowl (whats the chances), it was fecked but took the hair dryer (GF's) to it and works fine

mine didnt survive the washing machine - never tried the tumble drier though perhaps that is what went wrong

I forgot to mention that all it now plays is "You Spin me Right Round"

Top tip - if you do put somethign through a wash or drop it in water DON'T try it straight away. Put it in an airing cupboard for a couple of days to ensure it's totally dry throughout and you may be lucky. Don't switch it on until you're sure it's dry throughout.

I can attest to that one. When I was at uni, I lent my laptop to my flatmate who then vomitted on it that night. As he tried to boot it up after scraping the chunks for the keys it was instantly knackered.

Left if for a few days, hooked it up to AndyG's wedding pressie and hey-presto, the wee sod worked
