All it needs is its own domain .co.uk or whatever and then stickers / sig links from other forums etc will be easy. Im up for throwing in some $ (and I'm a student!) to get one if needed?
I think if new owners (like me) could be told to "check the yahoo list and also the forum at
http://www.scotseliseforum.co.uk" or whatever it would def improve traffic.

Yeah, we could push for advertising, logo, URL etc but we don't really want to step on the toes of the Yahoo Group. OK, Robin has a link to this board but there is still the hard core never going to change from Yahoo members.
I think those of us that would like to do the above should chip in for the costs. It won't cost much.

Only costs a few quid for a domain name.

Can we change colours?
Add logos where the above Elises are - top left?

OK, so Lotus colours are yellow and green but having that on here will be too similiar to SELOC.
I don't like the white. How about:
Black and Gold?
or
Red, white and gold?
Going by your link Si,
Domain hosting per month per 10 domains £0.40
Nominet fee per month per 10 domains £1.65
Total per month £2.15
Total price for 2 years £60
So, how about we all or those that want to chuck in £5?
We could just leave it to a certain number that pay towards the site become moderators.
That will keep this place ticking over for a while.
Obviously no one will be making any profit.
Once domain name is registered it will be found in a google search.
Stickers could be made up similiar to the Scottish Elises,SELOC,MLOC etc.
I don't think we should call it Scottish Elises as they could piss off some of the yahoo members...man...can you believe me of all people are worrying what others will think.
Where's my pills.......

http://www.elisescotland.com - smaller and better / easier for stickers?

OK, £39 isn't too bad and elisescotland.com sounds fine.
I will open 2 new threads for anyone wanting to donate money at £5 each. See how much interest we get after a week. The other one for colour schemes.
We may have to donate more to pay for stickers. I'm happy to design them and deal with the printing.

Excuse me for perhaps asking a dumb question, but where is the forum hosted at the moment? Does it have plenty space for any future membership explosion?
I dont see why you shouldn't retain the Scottish Elises name, a different name does make it seem a bit "divisional" plus it's not like you're sitting up some kind of rival faction owners club, just a different place to chat.
Thinking out of the box, why not extend it to Scottish Lotus (+ Luton-Hethel lovechildren

) in general?
Anyway, never mind me, just thinking aloud
