Took it for a blast yesterday morning! Sweet!

The new peddle box set up is genial, and the whine the supercharger makes is hugely amusing. It only had 700 miles on it so the engine was still pretty tight but the difference in pick-up was huge. Hit 4k rpm and then you are off to the races, as i demonstrated in a few overtaking moves that had Graeme looking for the imaginary brake peddle! :D

Beautiful car, but still not entirely sure about the fully colour coded look.

Wishing I hadn't liked it so much..............

Down side is the current state of 111R used prices :(

I think it's 2nd hand prices in general.
Quite depressing really!

Agreed.....sh*t if you are thinking of punting it though!

Is it just me that thinks £38k for an Exige is a big ask? (although I do REALLY like it).

:(

rather than take the depreciation hit, go for ohlins and a supercharger. Will end up being cheaper than selling the R and then taking another big hit on another new car.

Suddenly thought, can you do that to an R.?? :?

i think there's an SC that goes on more side mounted????

Not too worried abou tthe suspension at the moment though, and am toying with the many options.....would be very tempted to go down that route.

Jamie, have you got the SC on yet??

ONE MORE MONTH
Sorry it feels like I have been waiting forever, ok I almost have....

Yes the beast goes in mid May just in time for my B-day :D
The intercooler is side mounted in the driver side side scoop. This is sealed off from the engine bay with its own fan so hopefully no heat soak. Got a guy making me up some slightly larger side scoops al a Reverie just to help the air in

The kit is 111R friendly funnily enough had this argument with Mark on Exige.com about if there will or wont be a 280RR market. - Of course there will be because of people like myself and Andy, who would be a lot less p*ssed off with Lotus if they had figured out their product range at the beginning and not a couple of years later!

Basically unless you go for a nearly new 240R which look great value you are going to get hit with depreciation twice once when you sell your current car and two when you drive the new car out the show room :(
Interesting thought though - the 240R was bought by a lot of first time buyers then look at how many of them have been written off! I think back to how much I have learnt in the last year with the Exige (some would say not much! the way I dug it into the gravel  ) and previously the elise. I think I would kill myself if I had gone straight to the 280RR beast.

BTW the kit is making 170 wheel pound feet of torque at 2800 rpm  cant wait!

What is the kit cost fitted? £5K?

Look at it this way, you could find a mint lowmile 2004 Exige s2, spend 5k charging it, and you have a 240cup performing car for 40% less £ than lotus want.

Not for me, but I can see the market for it. Especially having looked at the price of a specced exige S.

I know what the kit will cost me but the actual cost fitted will depend on how long it will take to fit they are giving very open est at the moment :?

Careful what you wish for Shug!

I think this may have to be done at some stage mate! Uncle Ron is worried about the prospect of this happening already though :D :D

I'll wait to see Jamie's, but think I'll probably calm it down to sub 260 so i don't need to sort the clutch etc etc. :D

Totally agree with Jamie on the driving front also. Its only really the last few outings that I've felt i was getting most of the performance out of the car (R), and even then I bet there's still more to come! (hopefully my Walshy day later in June will help!!)
