:( accident repair anyone?
:( accident repair anyone?
After a small altercation with a 106 last night, I'm now in need of a bodyshop.
Obviously still got to go through my insurance company, but I'd like any recommendations for bodyshops in Glasgow that will know what they're doing as I'm sure elephant will direct me to the nearest Joe Bloggs.
Also, will I need a whole new front clam for damage that's essentially a fist sized hole and some denting/scraping above the front number plate?
Raging, as I'll not make KH now either.

Yeah I'm absolutely fine, the car is fine too except the cosmetic damage.
The Pug came off considerably worse which, even though I was only going about 20mph, is a testament to the strength and safety of the Lotus I think.
A month? I suppose I could just replace the number plate and live with the hole, but I'd rather not. Hmm.
The only other accident I've had I wasn't even in the car at the time - it was parked. And they wrote that off.

Not Glesga, but Steve Walker in Bathgate gets mentioned again and again... Just mention specialist car and repairer to the insurer and remind them who actually pays the premiums anyway...

Have you ever mentioned them? Whereabouts in Maryhill are they - I'm up there all the time and I might get a quote to repair the front clam on mine....jke11y wrote:Unlucky Sassy.
I had my front clam replaced at Allied in Maryhill. Did a good job,in the time my car was in and at times when I went up they had 3 or 4 other elises / exiges in getting fixed.
Total cost for 1 front clam, 1 headlight, badge, paint, labour etc was just over 3k.

What do you mean have I mentioned them?
There was a guy there who was the bodyshop manager who used to have an Elise, he was very helpful and always gave me info, let me in to see the car in states of undress, check it over etc etc. They get the parts from MMC which, funnily enough, was the only delays I had - getting the clam.
Once they had the parts it was fixed very quickly (they are open 24hrs fixing cars)
They also had a few clams kicking about, which the guy asked me if I had any use for!
