Tayside Coachtrimming
I am looking to have my S1 seats reconditioned. I have been up to Tayside Coachtrimmers, and they said they have already done Elise seats in the past. Is it anyone from SE ? As i would like a little feedback on the quality of the workmanship. Both seat bolsters, and new foam in the seats. Also the sill covers £180.00 ????????? What do you think ??????

Re: Tayside Coachtrimming
thats pretty cheap, I ws quoted 800 for 2 seats by baillies in johnstone.
I'd want to see some of thier work before letting them have a go at them

Aye . Thats why i am asking if anyone here has used them. The quote is only for repairing the bolsters, and replacing the foam in the seat. Also the sill covers. Its not reconditioning the leather, ait its still ok.

I had my Esprit done by David Hannen in Edinburgh I paid aboyt £2800 for the whole interior I think, Seats are very good few bits and bobs not so good but they were tricky and he didn't know how they came off the car so not his fault..

£180 sounds really cheap....too good to be true...??
Try Transcal in Livingston, they retrimmed some seats in pink leather (don't ask...!) for me a while back and did a decent job.

Yellow S2 135R # 116 - sold - replacement soon....maybe
Re: Tayside Coachtrimming
When I had my S2 seats retrimmed.... £800 was the going rate, tried a few places.
Cheapest I found was my local couch upholsterer.... iirc it was about £350 for him to do it.
Material he used is good for 50,000 rubs apparently!
Cheers,
Dave.

50,000 isnt great for car seats, most manufacturers will be looking for 300,000+

Re: Tayside Coachtrimming
Interesting this one I have been thinking about getting the cloths parts replaced on my seats/sill panels as they are fecked also getting the leather recoloured as it's scuffed. I was going to go round all the local sofa guys and see what they said but does anyone know anywhere else I can get it done for mega cheapness (before I start looking through amazon for a book called "upholstery for beginners
) also does anyone have any idea's what would be best for retrimming the crappy cloth bits on the leather seats.
Sent from my ZX SPECTRUM +2A

Re: Tayside Coachtrimming
For a bit of DIY leather care Dynamix dyes are great - they can also colour match if you provide a sample. Used it to tidy heaveily worn parts on the 911 and the leather looks almost new.

Did you try the upholsterers in Cupar - Evelyn Johnson's? I am sure she still has a shop close to Libo's Chippie on the Bonnygate. Never used her myself but did think about finding out if she could retrim the alcantara on my steering wheel.
The other option may be to buy S2 seats via the 'bay and flog your old ones

P.S.
Just Googled and she now seems to be at the Barony in Millgate
