Leaving your P&J Parked up ...

Does anyone else get worried when they leave their P&J parked up in town or car parks? I find I hurry around the shops and supermarkets just so I can get back to my car sooner.
I currently drive a Smart Brabus Roadster and just hate leaving it anywhere other than my driveway or work space. I'm looking at getting an elise later this year and I just know I will be worrying about it all the time!

Use to worry with my Impeza but not so much with the Elise.

but on the whole not heard of to many problems

Depends alot on the area, I leave the roof off when I feel safe like in StAndrews but wouldn't dream of it in Dundee! Had the roof off all weekend near enough all over Lancashire and the Peaks. Just be sensible and hide anything that might look llike it's worth nicking, remember its a soft top, if someone wants to get in they can with a knife or an allen key (S1!)

Didn't even think about the allen key thing. Thats genius engineering...

Once you loosen the allenbolts, you'd need to smash the windows to undo the 'other bits' ( that I'm not going to go into incase there are any budding theives online) inside the car - all you'd succeed in there is letting the roof tails flap about

Yeah - and in the S2 you don't even need an allen key. We've got wee paddles that tension the hood.

once you get the allen keys undone, it aint hard to open the door from the inside.

Err, with a pen knife you can just cut the roof open and in you get.
In fact I broke into my own car at Edinburgh airport one year by *snipped for security fears* Job done.
Point is, breaking into an Elise is child's play, so don't leave anything in it that they might want to steal! Katie once had her rear window smashed to steal 6 cans of diet coke, so I think leaving nothing at all in view might be the best way!

Or just leave it so full of gravel and dead insects that they can't make anything out worth nicking in the first place

I'll leave it to Robin's discretion, but seriously, all you need is a penknife - it's not a secure car. Christ if they want something, then they are in - to get in like Robin did would be too much hassle for the thief.
But if you definately want it removed, I will....

Yeah - I had 6 morning rolls stolen once - they were lying on the back parcel shelf (and had been for some time
) when someone liberated them via the rear quarterlight.
