£5000.00 for a S1 Elise, including hardtop. What a bargain. This must be the cheapest ???????????

What a bargain....

I'm suprised, due to price, that S1's haven't started to attract a lot more attention from the chav boy racer market.... :(

Yes, i fear it is only a matter of time until this happens, and we see Elise's in Max Power...... how bad would that be, although boy racers may struggle to insure them

That is one great value car, although seems to good to be true :?:

Near me, there is a 53 plate VX in a garage for £6K with no mention of CAT C/D

Fingers crossed, like the The Elan M100, which is also pretty quick, renown for handling and probably a lot more reliable than an Elise, the chav-racers will leave Loti well alone, and looking at the chavs choice of wagon, FWD doesn't seem to matter much to them.

You can't buy 12 different body kits, nor fit 6 amps and 20 subwoofers in an Elise, there isn't a choice of 500 bling rims....

Lotuses are not on chav/ned/boy racer radar they are seen as being aspirational but not actually affordable (although 2 clicks on autotrader shows different). Long may it continue.

S1's must be getting rare though.

I suppose the thing is that you not only have to buy the car but also run it. You say Lotus, and people instantly look at you with a respect they didn't have before, and I swear they are thinking 'omg imagine the running costs and they are soooo unreliable'

Speaking to people at my work, none of them would believe that my s1 uses less fuel than my Punto!

Everyone's first comment nowadays is 'that must use a lot of petrol'

It used to be 'wow, your car is the cleanist i've ever seen' then I bought the Lotus

If that is genuine, and it looks pretty genuine, somebody should bite his arm off - it's a 2000 model so pretty much all the early niggles sorted out. Hardtop will sell by itself if you don't want it, so you can knock that off the price. If I could even remotely justify owning a second elise at the moment, I would be in there!

Cheers,
Robin

Seconded. If genuine it is one of the last made, looks in good nick and well looked after, the hardtop can be sold for £750, and if I did not have two already I would buy it for the kids when they get older.

Great 21st birthday present for Clare.

Cannot believe that it has not already sold.

Could be persuaded into Lotus ownership if the above car is all thats its made out to be. Does anyone know someone in the know that would be able to view the car on my behalf?

Cheers Mike
