Don't know if anybody is looking for one, but this looks a good S/C Honda car.

Its not as good as it looks. The stupid clutch and lsd make it a pig drive.

Nowhere near as quick as it should be and converted by the same people who did Ed's incredibly reliable beast.

I am still amazed at the number of peeps who swear by Lotus Power (on Exige.com) when Ed had such issues. Was he unlucky? do they not drive their cars at all? Or was Ed's an early one/bad one and the rest are OK?

I certainly would not go near one myself.

Dan, is the LSD too aggressive and it understeers or what?

You don't really notice it in the dry but it is awful to drive in the wet. Far too agressive and low speed traction is a major issue.

Yup there are a lot of Edwards fanboys on Exiges.com. That installation cost a lot more than a LInk-Up S/C conversion too so they're not exactly cheap, as well as taking months.

And from what I have seen, Ed wasn't just unlucky.

Some interesting comments there guys, so for a different perspective:

The seeds to Ed's car's problems were sown by its previous owner. If you ask Ed, I warned him about that at Donington, which was his first trackday with it shortly after he had bought it.

RichE's black Exige for sale now - Rich specified the "stupid clutch" (& no one argues that it is not stupid) himself. Cost - he had a shed load more work done than just the conversion, at the same time. Lotuspower have never held themselves out to be "cheap", but their labour rate is less than the other converters, so on a like for like time basis, they will work out cheaper. Lead time - everyone knows that Lotuspower is not a fulltime operation, & that customers are not given specific delivery dates - it's entirely up to them whether or not they accept that, before any work begins. It's quite often the case, with Lotuspower, that customers decide to have additional work/upgrades whilst the conversion process is underway.

I know of 6 other "fanboys" beside me, who have Lotuspower Honda S/C converted cars, & who are delighted with the conversion. We all continue to have Lotuspower look after their cars for servicing/upgrades etc. We are all regular trackday drivers, so our cars are used "as intended".

Personally, I would have been very happy to have had my car S/C converted by any of the usual suspects ie Link Up, Sinclaires, Phoenix, but for my own specific reasons, I chose Lotuspower.

Cheers Jamie :D

Put it this way, Ed's old car spent quite a bit of time at Santa Pod

Did anyone notice its "modified" rear roll hoop?

I'll leave it at that........

Saw Eds old car in bits down at Hoffmans last week - it was getting the chargecooler upgrade to take it to the 350bhp as well as new driveshafts.

Also has a shocker of a reggy plate, D3AST with a bolt to make it look like beast

The new owner only wants (or can handle) a straightline fast car, so expect to see it back at Santa Pod (if he's got the balls to go there), or out on his local Cruzin Nite

My Dad lives 10 min from Henley and I have never been to Hoffmans I guess if I am down that way and have nothing better on, I should stop by. If Hoffmans are completly sorting the car it wont be cheap - from what I have heard their work is good but quick or cheap they are not
