Guys,
As you know I will be selling the Elise for an A4. I've actually been made a very good offer for my car.
Plan was to be out of Lotus for a year and a bit.

What's your advice on this:

Give Mark Hutcheson a ring, ask him to build you a sprint/hillclimb car with a 'Busa. If you are goining to need a trailer you may as well get a car that really needs one.

The one he is working on will weigh around 400kg, but the lightest legal car is only 208kg. Busa is 80kg, tyres and wheels are 10kg each, that leaves 88kg for chassis and suspention.....

Hoping to get some pax laps in someone caterham this weekend.
I think it would be enormous fun!
Dave, are you really saving for one?
What sort of price do you think would get a fast, maybe 140bhp?
Think I would be looking between £12K-£15K

Yeah I plan one of those as my next car unless something life threatening pops up!

Yeah looking at between 12-18k, ideally i would kick a budget out the window and PCP a 2nd hand nearly new one, but 25-30k for a second car is a lot of muller, esp one that the other half aint going to contribute to!

Got loads of good info from Renmure and Ross, will see if I still have e-mail/P.M's, but bang for buck a Caterham/Westy will whoop most things on track, but just need driven properly (here may lie the problem!)
Gareth, I imagine a badge is important to you, how about, and I am considering this, start with a 10k Westy, and then build up to a mother of a Caterham?

I could settle for a council house in Dundee and have two nice cars?!!!

Dave

I noticed Renmures Westy is for sale.
£10K is nothing but unsure of the bike engine.....man that car's fast.

Buyers market out there so come next year I should be able to pick up something that will see off the likes of Mr Arnot!!

Nery nice.
Do you not need to wear a helmet for fear of getting splatted by flyes and stones at speed?
