Exige no more........

Well, after much deliberating and cogitating I finally signed on the dotted line for an RS4 with the Exige thrown in as part of the deal. All being well I should pick the Exige up from MMC this Sat after the warranty/service work and a couple of hours to put the car back to standard should have it ready to trade and pick up the new wheels next week sometime. Part 1 of the Master Plan complete.
Depreciation steep but when compared with similar levels (if not more) on the RS4 then it all kinda levels out. Part 2 of the master plan will be to upgrade bikes in the spring with part 3 to follow later this year/early next which is still under negotiation with Mrs Northernpar as to what type of ragtop sports car to get. Predicatbly she's focussed on a Poxster when I'm thinking of a Honda/Audi S1 conversion. I'll need to brush up on my negotiating skills!
What this does mean is that there is a spare set of S2 Team Dynamics wheels with Toyo TR1's (only used for approx 1k miles) that will be appearing in the classifieds along with a 2Bular silencer. A bargain to be had for someone.
Needless to say that I'll still be popping in from time to time even though I'll be Lotusless for the best part of this year.
Cheers
Graeme

Stunning looking car
Also been looking at a couple of these lately
Had a 4.2 S4 cabrio when i bought the elise and that was an amazing car not quite in the same league as the RS though
You will love every minute of it , just hope your prepared for the running costs though
Also has anyone mentioned the black front grille as its really unusual on a red car ?

Guess I'm in it for the smiles per gallon rather than miles per gallon

. As Mrs Northernpar often quotes "there's no pockets in a shroud". I knew I married her for a reason!
The black front certainly does look different to the normal chrome and I guess it's all down to personal taste. I quite like the fact that there's less visible chrome on the outside.

Great choice of car, love it
Did you buy it from an audi dealer, and if so, was trading the exige a problem?? I'm looking at an s / rs4 avant for dog express transport towards the end of 2009, if all things work out to plan. Mrs Weegie is more of an scoob estate fan, but im working on her
Oh, a word of advice - Beware of audi servicing though, as they can bum burgle you for consumables like pads, disks and fluid changes...
Cheers,
Steve

Yup, through the Audi dealer in Aberdeen although the car is being shipped up from Stockport. Trading the Exige wasn't a problem as a Lotus dealer bid for it and the price is pretty much what I expected considering the current financial state. Spoke to Graeme at MMC to see if it was him who bid but he stated that as the Aston/RR dealership stock wasn't moving the board were reluctant to take on new stock but you never know they may have had a change of heart and the car could still end up there.
Agree on watching dealer, the first price they offered on the RS4 was a grand more than the Stockport dealer was advertising it for although a little gentle negotiation soon sorted that. All in all I've reconciled that as the RS4 depreciated faster than the Exige and is only 5-6 months older I'm probably around £2-3k down on the overall deal which isn't too bad all things considered.

Nice choice of car! (pitty about the Exige though) The boss I think would have a red RS4 and an elise/exige of some sort on the drive if we could justify it so at the moment the S160 and a 2.5TDI A4 hogs outside the house.
If I'm passing your way and see the car Ill give a wave.

Found this on the web during my now regular rs4 hunt... The sound alone may have me converted to the 2.7T v6
