Hi Folks,
Just a wee hello...........picked up a fine specimen of a Caterham last week and shall be unleashing it at Knockhill next Saturday
Looking to glean any knowledge from yourselves in due course. Not new to KH but barely driven the 7 so I'll be taking it gingerly
Pics of "her" ( not got a decent chance to get out and get some quality pics as yet !)
Pampered or what......
p.s. can anyone provide specific advice on tyres pressure for these Avons ( i.e track temp. pressures)
Thanks
John

You will love your 7 on track. The CR500 works well. Feels great even when the track is wet! I run mine at between 16 and 18 psi. As it will be your first time tracking the 7, you may want to get used to the car before adjusting the pressure.
I would start at 18 and after getting use to the car, drop the pressure if you start to understeer at same entry speed. If the weather is mild and track dry, the tyre pressure will increase every rapidly.
I will not be tracking mine (SLR) on the day but I will be in my CR (Exige S). Please come and say hi, I will be looking forward to meeting you.

Nice looking car - looking forward to seeing it on Saturday
They're quite forgiving to drive so I don't think you'll have any problems at KH - if I can do it anyone can

Mass is spot on - if (like me) you take a cautious approach, the backs will heat up more and over steer is the first hint to let a little out. But if you're like Mass, and make all wheels work hard, then they all might need dropped a PSI or two.
Being quite new to Caterhams myself I found 18PSI a good starting point and it quite hard to keep the tyres warm - my best times have been when warm weather has helped.
