Ferrari 348: Obviously No Lotus Content

Anyone have any 1st hand or direct experience of the Ferrari 348?

We have been looking around for a wee while and whilst the initial target was a 355 they are still a bit out of budget range at the mo, where as the 348 seems a good buy. Having never owned a ferrari we will probably buy at a specialist and have looked into the servicing costs which, although we aint going to look forward too, we can budget for.

Its a bit of an information hunt at the mo and I am searchng through the usual forums on Pistonheads/Fcars etc (I am also sure I remember on the SE list reading that one of the members bought a 348) but any other input is appreciated.

Jim

I think Jonathan Neale's Ferrari is the same as the one you are looking for. You could maybe PM him for some info as I dont think he always reads the forum.

A friend of a friend has had one for a couple of years, I could PM you his details if you are interested?
He is a bit of a spannerman and has probably tackled some of the DIY stuff and as far as I can make out runs the car on a tightish budget.

Hi Ross,
Think I searched through most of the Blatchat ferrari threads recently. If you have an email addy and he wouldnt mind an enquiring email then that would be handy. I am sure folk get fed up of 'what do you think of this car' threads when nothing ever comes of it.

cheers,

Nice :) Drove the Knockhill F355 last Tuesday - one seriously torquey motor (compared to anything I've driven at least).

Want one please.

You could ask around here:

Hi Jim

I've been out in Jonathan's 348 and loved it. Didn't have anything like the pace of the 355 though!

I've been longing for a 355 for a while now

Yeah, but a 355 is in a different price league...

if you got a 355, some would say a 360 is better, and then onto a 430 etc

Sounds like Jim is doing his homework here & is budgeting for running costs too (which I believe can kept to realistic levels - but is never gonna be cheap  ) so has found his level at a 348

Lucky dog
