Le Mans 2010

Post by GregR » Thu Jun 18, 2009 9:08 am

I've had an in-depth discussion with Mrs R and I've been given a pass to go to Le Mans next year. Its something I think everyone should do at least once, and given responsibility is just around the corner, I figure I'd better get it out of my system sharpish!

So, the reason for this post is to see if anyone else is up for a bit of a jolly next June. All being well, the government won't have taxed the RS6 off the road so I'll be taking that (hopefully with some comedy Le Mans livery). I'm happy to look into booking us pitches and, crossings etc so let me know if you fancy it.

Let me know if you're interested and we'll see what's what, t'would be nice to get a wee convoy organised :)

Cheers,

Greg

Little early for a full-on commit, but consider me hugely interested. Been far too long since I've been. :thumbsup

Me and Mrs t_t are going.

We're planning a cruise through the UK, stopping at a few places, a couple of days in Lille, then onto Le Mans then Reims and maybe Bruges on the way home.

Booking a hotel for Le Mans at the moment is proving tricky though (nae chance I'm staying in a tent!)

I'll be well up for this! Last year was mental...

Need to remind Walshy that he volunteered to organise a proper trip. I'd be up for helping out. Need to sort out a private camping/parking enclosure again... our private bogs and showers last year were the only ones with no queue through a river of piss to negotiate.

Sounds like a laugh, I fancy some euro camping with the misses next year, but If I was to bring the misses she would probably get bored and I would have to be on my best behavior.

If she's not into cars, she will get bored quickly mate - no way round that sadly. Although if she is, there is so much going on that you can spend the full race doing stuff and only see a few minutes of it. Nice part of the country, so there's always the option of getting in the car and going somewhere else as well.

It's supposedly almost completely changed from the last time I was there (2003) with much more in the retail village and lots happening all the way through the race.

Brilliant Graeme :) If you've got experience then that would be a great help - cuts out the weekend's worth of surfing/phoning round to get what we want.

Depends if LoT are gonna do one next year (did they not bother this year?) as that was the one Graeme was on, wasn't it?

Sounded like a well-organised trip.

unless it sells high heels and bags she will get bored, so I will have to go myself and be on my worst behavior.

I've been mulling this over too, so will watch what happens, but also too early for me to commit for certain.

Anyone got any contacts/suggestions? Not wanting to burst the budget on accomodation .. I've got stickers to buy! ;)

I have been trying to do this for a while, but lack of decent car has kind of made me loose my drive. Nearly did it in 03/04 also.

Rolfey my boy, June next year I am afraid I will probably be getting married, there or there abouts, so money will continuing to be non-existent until then....

Cheers,

Dave
