Long term implications for bonded chassis ?

Is there any opinions/info on the state the bond will be in, in 20 years time? :?

Isn't it aircraft grade glue? In which case it should be lasting 30 years plus, or I'm not getting on a plane again.

I have seen the coloured glue threads before tho, mines is anniversary green, that'll mean it lasts 50 years right!? :D

Well the F27 has been in service for 50 years and has redux bonded components http://www.fokkerservices.com/?id=10641

As long as Lotus did the bonding correctly and has not been overstressed ie:crashed or chemically attacked it should be in perfect condition. Should corrosion in the metal occur thats a different story.

Here is an article written in 1946 showing the benifits . 60 years ago, things have moved on.

Our aircraft fall apart every day :roll: I don't like flying anymore.

I know too much to be comfortable on a plane, we pay our techies loads and Sleazyjet don't.... :shock:
