It's a hit and miss if they want to do you. I drove the caterham back from Knockhill last week. Bald ACB10 cut slick tyres, one trade plate hanging from the roll cage facing rearward, sponsor number plates fitted to the car, no indicators, about 2 lights on the car actually working, etc... passed 2 police bikes at mach 10. They had a look but never followed.

Stopped for fuel. Steering wheel off, harnesses off, climbed out thru roof.. look to side and 4 traffic cop cars had pulled in to the petrol station, each with 4 cops in them, and proceeded to fuel up next to me. Went in to pay and was standing in a line of 5-6 traffic cops.... all of us looking out the window at the 7 with no front plate, tax disk etc. No one of them said a word :? . I was 1/2 expecting to feel the hand of the law on my shoulder "right son, lets go outside and have a word" scenario. I even gave it a bit stick away from the junction and they still never gave chase.

I think they were all out on training... but i'd have thought on of the head honcho's would have piped up with something.

From that link,

"Steve Stradling, professor of transport psychology at Napier University's Transport Research Institute, said: "A recent study has shown that drivers who have been caught speeding by a speed camera are twice as likely to have a collision than those who haven't been caught."

So don't catch anyone and you'll reduce accident rates!

It's like Tom says, cause we're all twitchy as fek looking out for scameras regardless of what speed we're doing.

Surprise, surprise - conclusion is that those who are smart enough to spot the cameras (and therefore not be caught) are also less likely to have accidents.

hmm, not sure how this'll work given the requirement for corroboration in our fair country:-

(a) cop cars with radar guns need 2 rozzers for corroboration
(b) scamera vans need two rozzers or two 'accredited civilians' for corroboration

How will the reading be corroborated by a single cop?

And our roads are in such good condition too.....so nice to see the fund re-invested........

Fed-up with the 1950's road infrastructure up here and the fact the government are making more and more money out of us for the pleasure...... :kermit
