A guy at my work has gone through the same. Every games company he has worked at has gone bust so he decided not to waste any more time in the industry and got out.

Cheers m8. I do the 3D/2D graphics etc. Any visual stuff basically.

Couldn't agree more. But as an artist wanting to stay in Dundee or at least Scotland, my options are a bit more limited. You code monkeys are simply in more demand :(

Time for me to start looking outside the 'box'! What ever that means :)

Well at DC I did dozens of little 2D animations like this based on a kids TV series for a Nintendo DS game.

That's pretty unusual stuff for me tho, normally it's 3D like the job before that for Battlefield2 Xbox360

Ouch, commiserations Scott! Just got the following email from our studio manager:

"Unfortunately it seems that as of today, DC Studios in Glasgow/Edinburgh has closed, making 29 folk redundant. DC have been around for a number of years, most recently completing development of State of Emergency 2. They also have a Canadian office which is believed to be unaffected.

Obviously yet another sad blow to the Scottish games industry... but it's also another opportunity for us to pick up some good people, so we're going through on Monday to present to the staff. There should be an email going round an ex-DC staff mailing list, but if there's anyone there you know, could you take a minute to give them a shout and recommend they come along to Room 104 of Glasgow's Central Hotel, for 3pm this Monday, to find out more about RTW. Thanks."

However, judging from your track record it seems you're cursed, so please don't apply here thanks. (jk) <BG>

Cheers mate but I should clarify... workin in 3D is typical for me, workin on AAA next gen titles aint :( I've got a list as long as ur arm of games I've worked on that were canned even before they got to the bargain bin!! - not my fault tho, honest gov!! (I really don't sell myself well do I :D)

Re: Real Time... cheers guys, looks like John Duthie has been busy typin!! ;) (know him well from a couple of other now liquidated companies!) I've got a few mates who work there, am gonna apply, see what happens.

Steve! Good news about ur car! :thumbsup

Scott,
Really sorry to hear this. If you are looking to go outside the box we are looking for Architectural visualisation animators
If you're not living on the edge you're wasting too much space!
