Think people deal with a guy called Guy.....
If I remember it aint cheap.
Apparentlly Nitrons need rebuilt after 18-24 months.

Not cheap but very necessary.

Two of them have started weeping after 20K miles on the hardest setting - this is a good time to go a little softer I think...

For future reference, £50 a pop excluding VAT and delivery... Not as bad as I feared

if you refurbish them, make sure they also look at the outside and supply new dustseals and alu rings ( or what are these mounting rings called ?)
they did not replace these even there was play in some (and I mentioned it)
but you will notice the difefference, the old oil inside tends to burn with trackuse and that effects the damping.

Refurb'd and delivered back to the office at only £383 (including 4 new piston rods). There's also a full set of the mounting spacer rings etc. Couldn't ask for better service.
What a relief. The comedy ride height Konis were getting depressing...

£30 less than my Protechs cost to buy new.

May be good service, but the shocks themselves are pretty unimpressive. And £383 for putting them right? The adjustment rings are pathetic, too small, and the rears are terrible to get at. They also seize up unless you constantly adjust them.
And 12 - 18 months for a rebuild is not on. Steve Butts modified S2 shocks are a better bet and around half the cost.
Not sure how the reputation of Nitrons has been built up so high, but they do not cut it for me.

Because they work well, are adjustable for both ride height and damping and fit the elise?

Didn't realise they were so controversial!
To be fair I bought them second hand because they were available. I wouldn't have been able to justify the cost otherwise. I've had a great year driving on them, put in some serious mileage (+20K) and even with the refurb, I still haven't reached the 'as new' price.

i like them. to be honest, if your not on track, then the S2 bilsteins are more than good enough, but if you set the nitrons up properly, then they are a good damper.
A standard rebuild should cost 250 quid including VAT, but i needed 2 piston rods. obviously, after much abuse, these piston rods can bend, but so can the bilsteins.
Also, it lets you run stiffer springs, which is what i plan to do when i get a chance.
