A guy brought a little demo in this morning with these Nordlock washers, they are really simple and work a treat for locking nuts. Does anyone have a source for them - I think I'll rebolt the exige - bits just seem to work loose.

Jim Gormley?
I had some samples a few years back, worked really well. Can get them direct:

Echo FD, think they were relatively expensive for car applications...good for bolts that might rattle out where you wouldn't want to threadlock perhaps...?

That guy was in our office on Wednesday(Richard Waddington)!
Intersting demo, I was just using nord-locks too on a design for work, talk about speak of the devil........
I hope you got a free bottle opener?
I quizzed him over automotive applications but he said that the auto industry don't want to pay the extra cost for them. They would be great on motorbikes though. I'm always loosing bolts from the rear numberplate & the exhaust bols do work free a little, problem is you need a steel/steel interface and most of the bolts are holding a plastic fairing, so will just damage the plastics.
Going to get some samples for the undertray main bolts at the back at they suffer from loosening after a while. But having run with Nitrons for the past year & commuting over some of the bumpiest roads in aberdeenshire/angus I've not had anything work loose (bar the 2 rear tray main bolts).

You're in luck - you can get them from me! We're one of the biggest stockists in the country.
You can buy online at
https://secure.grampianfasteners.com/se ... aspx?id=15, just phone the office or pop into our shop in Dyce.
I did put a post up a while back about these beacuse they are brilliant at what they do. As Andy said, they're not suitable for every application.
If there's enough interest I could arrange for Richard to do a SE demo at our place. I've got a load of the demo bottle openers as well if anyone is after one.
Gary.

I was speaking to Richard from Nordlock today. He won't be back in Aberdeen until late November. I'll see if there's any interest in a demo nearer the time.
In the meantime if anyone wants me to send out a free bottle opener with the demo washers on them, then feel free to PM me.
Gary.
