The time has come to sell

Post by CSK_423 » Wed Jun 14, 2006 1:10 pm

the car I have been putting it off for long enough it's just not getting used.

I'm struggling to think what to buy next though ???

Budget is 20k max and looking for something which is nearly as quick as the elise but alot more practical with 4 seats

Audi S3 had came to mind or S4 or at a big stretch RS4

any ideas ??

S3 is nice and quick. Steering is totally dead though. G/f loves hers and I've driven it a fair bit now, just not on the same planet in le twisties as an Elise though.

Other options - quick beemer of some description (330 or older M3 maybe) Rally weapons are bloody thirsty (and look a bit chav for most)

Nothing to compare though - straight-line performance of everything mentioned would probably kill a standard Elise (although Elaine now says that mine pulls away comfortably from hers with the new engine in it)

Looked at the Lancia before the Elise and they are lovely cars but I've heard so many horror stories about them, I just wouldn't get one the other half throws in the odd comment when the elise isn't up to scratch I don't know if my ears ould take the Lancia problems

Fed up with the BMW 3 series shape looks so boring although a M3 would be nice I reckon I would want to sell it after 6months.

Used RX8? Thirsty for petrol and oil though.....

Older shape M5 can be had for £20K IIRC (higher mileage) Same as above for gas & oil though.

Just a slight lack of seats there sanjoy..... my dad has one (m coupe, estoril blue) and it shifts. Feels a bit dead to drive though compared to the exige / s1. Guzzles gas though.

I was looking at getting a m coupe as my run around, I need the boot for the lab.

Funds went on a flat, so the volvo it is for a while longer.

If you can handle the colour, this S4 seems well priced...Stick a Milltek exhaust on it, and it'll sound awesome... 8) )
