Trip to Steve Walker

Post by douglasgdmw » Mon Jun 26, 2006 12:16 pm

Parked the Evo in Tesco's car park in Corstorphine in Edinburgh on Saturday and was washing the car later on and noticed that someone has put a nice scratch down the rear bumper

I already parked far enough away in car parks as it is so looks like my only option is to use up 2 spaces in future.

Just so annoyed that someone would do this and just walk away. Just hope they had a sleepless night on the Saturday worrying whether they got caught in the CCTV cameras (checked but unfortunately they did not).

I am sure Steve Walker will do a great job so popping along tomorrow night to see how much it will cost. Only consolation is that its just the bumper and could have been a lot worse.

Cheers

Just hope so. Luckily I reckon it will not be too much to get it sorted out but it is all the hassle that I have to go through.

I will just be inconvenient and use up 2 spaces in future. May be fun in Ocean Terminal as I have already had a run in with an over zelous parking attendant there before. Car park was reasonably empty but there were no end spaces so I put the elise in the middle of 2 spaces.

Parking attendant came out, said I could not do that. Explained the difficulty of opening doors & getting out. He was having none of it so said they were going to lift the car if I did not move it. No way I was backing down so a trip to the management office and chat to their local resident policeman sorted it out, had to back down slightly but the policeman located a nice end space right in front of the office so he could keep an eye on the car. Probably stalemate but saw it as a victory as the policeman was on my side.

You could always buy a chain like they use for motorcycles and then chain the front wheel to the railings ... that way they wouldn't be able to lift it up. In fact I don't believe for one moment that they can lift vehicles in the car park anyway - it only has a 2m headroom so the lifting truck cannot get in, and even if it could, the spaces are too tight to safely lift out a car.

Next time, call his bluff ... or go round the car park and find all the badly parked chelsea tractors covering more than one space (which will be most of them) and insist that they lift all of those out too - that should keep the fascist happy :-)

Ocean Terminal is free parking which makes it even more silly that the guy was wanting to take the vehicle away :?
