When I sold the Liz i got the money direct into my bank account. Electronic payments don't cost much, and as far as i know, are much more secure.

I sold my Megablade last Wedneday. A nice man came up from Wales and trailered it away in exchange for 10k paid in ten big bundles of twenty pound notes. Being a trusting sort of guy (err... potential mug!!) I only conted the number of bundles. Obviously I must look more dodgy than he did cause when I paid it into the bank they didnt take my word for it and insisted on counting it!!

Bankers drafts are ok if you go with the buyer to their bank when they get the draft written out, that's how I paid when I got my liz. The seller had to hang around a bit while the bank messed about checking IDs and phoning through for security checks, but at least he then knew it was a genuine draft.

No. In a counting machine. Only took few mins.
He did ask me how I was paying such a large amount of cash in... I jokingly said "I have been busking" and he said. "oh. ok"

You gotta hate banks for not explaining exactly how (in)secure all their methods really are, cost versus loss I guess. But why is it, it always us it ends up costing us!?! :(
