For the Mrs so has to be relatively cheap to run with a lowish insurance group, 5 door and newish...oh and has to be a hatchback.
Actually found a brandnew MG ZS with the 180 bodykit. Cracking looking car but it's down in Glasgow. Would rather buy something local. The garage are supplying a 3 year/ 6oK warranty.
Looking at the Fabia vRS this weekend. Decent looking car but would I hate to drive a SKODA!?! Badge snobbery again!
Suggest anything else apart from Ford Focus and VW Golf??
There will be the day I drive it so I don't want to be embarrased driving it.
Cheers

Alright - seriously, you'd not go far wrong with that fabia. Forget the badge pish (you've got a Lotus for that) and remember it's a VW, for less cash.

On a recent hoon out past loch lomond, a fabia vRs was keeping nae bad pace with us (me + an exige). He was, however, trying very hard and it was on a motorway but still. I'd at least try one, and then buy a used S3.

£200 is a bt more than Im looking to spend but I've never financed a car before so have idea of this sort of thing.

Vw Polo is what I am driving and its good though expensive for what it is . I have christened it the Bus as thats what it feels like after being out inthe Elise. However you can get very good deals on Seat's which are basically VW's but probably better. Seat Ibiza gets a great write up.
