Forget the rest, he is the best.
Regardless of racing category, he has just won the German WRC Rally for the eighth time. He will almost certainly be the World Champion for the seventh time and still has years to go.

The strange thing is, despite his success I don't hate him, he is still very likeable as a person and has his feet firmly on the ground and whilst there isn't a British driver fighting for the title (Matt Wilson isn't going to be that man) I'll support him, oh and Petter Solberg because he's mad and always happy and so you should be if you drive WRC cars for a living.

Watched the coverage of this today, he certainly has an amazing driving style and has proved that he pretty much is the best in rallying these days, much like Henri Toivenan was back in the group b days

Marcus Gronholm always did it for me, not that successful but the boy has flair.
Loeb is the Schumacher of world rally. Rather awesome to watch.

I think that is unfair to Loeb; he is not a dirty rotten cheat!
Loeb is without doubt a great driver, but I do think he has had so much success because there has not been a consistent serious rival for him; if Gronholm / McRae or any of the other greats were still around, I'm sure Loeb's record would be less impressive.

A little unfair as Michael appears to have little sportsmanship about him while I've never seen Loeb say a bad thing about anyone.
Loeb does make driving look effortless, while the likes of Petter Solberg and Marcus Gronholm look a bit more hairy canary.

I used to love WRC but a two manufacturer championship doesn't do it for me.

Loeb is absolutely amazing, he can warp time where others are stuggling to keep to a decent pace, also as others have said he donest come off a c##k either, the WRC seems to have quite good sportsman ship compare to other motorsport, i guess it because there is little or no risk of contact/not allowing the faster driver to pass?
also - he's quite the driver considering he started off life as a gymnast!!

Loeb is great, but I wouldnt sit in a forest for hours to watch him. IMO this is the stuff of legends...

The bit where he goes through the gate just after sliding over a cattle grid whilst basically at top speed is really, really cool

Its at about 1min 40 secs.
