New Paintjob

Post by VXJON » Sat Jul 15, 2006 1:54 pm

After a lot of toyin with the idea of getting a exige i finally decided to keep the vx. My major problem with the car was the poor quailty of the paint finish, so now that i was keeping it the car was booked into chipsaway in glasgow for a full respray. As the car was going to be in the bodyshop I ordered the turbo bodykit which could be painted at the same time, also getting painted are the window surround and wheels both of which are going to be black. I was planning on keeping the car yellow mostly to keep cost down but also wanting something a little different, which is why i finally decided on a brillant yellow basecoat and after looking at some sample cards a green pearl clearcoat  . Sounds stupid but on the car it looks great, when you stand a couple of meters away it seems to have a kind of light blue shimmer when in the sunlight.

The cars always been yellow but the paintwork was disgraceful

On the subject of price I got a ok deal on it as a couple of friends work there so i could nt guess how much he would take but i cant imagine it being that much more than i paid.

^^^^^ bugger

i'd have been interested in a group buy too. i have a few paint chips that could do with a total respray and colour change!
