Pope above the law?

Post by robin » Thu Sep 16, 2010 12:45 pm

Just watching his Holiness drive down Princes St/Lothian Rd on telly and I noticed two things:

(1) He is not wearing a seat belt.
(2) He is driving in a UK registered vehicle that is not displaying a valid tax disc.

Next he'll be using his mobile :-)

Book him Danno, murder one!

Cheers,
Robin

(To be fair, (2) may not be down to him as it's probably not his car and he isn't driving it).

Don't go looking that up if you're at work, BTW.

:damnfunny @ the Daily Mash. "bulletproof ice cream van", LOL. Lisa thinks it looks like a comode!

So long as we don't all go getting on our high horses and posting here with extremist, sweeping generalisation views, things will be fine :-)

All that said, I don't recall good ol' Pope John Paul the whateverth getting it tight over a questionable past?

Just love sitting up here listening to all the road closures around Edinburgh.

Looks like a white Postman Pat van.

Doesn't actually matter all that much, the place is f*cked anyway. Been strangled by tram works (now further delayed), and before that, was destroyed by the council's obsession to keep traffic out of the very centre.

We never go there anymore, really. Other than to visit friends, etc. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm actually quite glad our office moved out of town to Edinburgh Park.

Anyway, hopefully his PayPalness is enjoying haggis neeps and tatties in Morningside and is steeled for the M8 crawl to Glesga to meet his worshippers this afternoon. Oh, I forgot, the motorway will be cleared for his passage ... I wonder if they will also exceed the speed limit?!

Actually, do you know what, I have no idea why I was so cheeky in the previous post.

I think it's because, not being a Roman Catholic, I can't get my head around how special the Pope is.

Will go back to watching all the flag-waving on News24, then...
