Anyone else tried driving Tut stylee??

drove to work today (in the borrowed mx5) in my bare feet, Tut style! Found it easier than i anticipated, but heel and towing (the pedals are that close) required some judicial use of the ankle!

Incredible how much more feel you have especially of the accelerator!

Anyway, you can see just how interesting my day has been

Will need to try it in the elise when it/if it ever re-appears!

Pedals have sharp edges in the Elise - you need feet like Ghandi or vertebrae damaged nerve endings...

Tried it once when my trainers got wet . Found it really hard to brake and that was in a car with servo assisted brakes. Put my squidgy shoes back on .

I always remember taking the piss out of the late Tim Wilkinson when he met up for a run. Him and Tut got out their cars without their shoes on. It was like looking at the Grand Master and Apprentice

I often drive barefoot - did most of the stelvio trips that way as well as last week on the french frolic. Most of the time when going to/from work I drive in my socks.

Then again, I do have size 10s and am currently sporting an aubergine nail polish, which helps

I often drive Tut stylee. I find it more confortable and makes you feel very connected with the car. Don't find a problem braking hard, but I wouldn't want to try it on track.

I did it on the drive back from a gig in Inverness once (the only other footware I had were size 11 Doc Martins) After a wee bit of acclimatisation, it actually felt fine - and I've got soft little tootsies!

I nearly always drive in socks/bare feet in my other cars(look at me...

), but haven't tried it in the lotus yet. I really like it, because you can set the air to blow on your feet as youre driving

Was driving barefoot through france with te roof down shen S noticed a large wasp sitting a few inches to the right of my left foot on the floor. She got down whith the heel of her shoe in hand and killed it.

Passers by may have thought summit else was going on to pass the time when she came back up looking contented.

Tried it in the CTR after I had been hillwalking and my boots were wet. Hurt the arch of my foot and gave me cramp after a while.

Tried it in the Exige a few times and certainly gives you a better sensation of being in control of the car. Still got cramp in my right foot.

It helps if it is normal not to wear shoes, and the soles are hard, for as Ali says, the Elise pedals have quite sharp edges.

It is so second nature for me that I would have problems if I was racing and had to use footware. The Elise is also almost perfectly set up for barefoot heel and toeing, and I am sure that it helps me when delicate use of the throttle is needed.

I tried it but I don't like it.

Having said that, in the Voyager and for longer trips I do, but enthusiastic driving I jus can't. Mind you, I have really soft feet skin, actually as soft as the back of my hand

And I must be one of the vrey few here that don't H&T

I can (and finally have set the pedals for it) (it was kinda difficult with size 12 feet) but just don't.
