But it's not due out until 2095 ;)

If it's true, it seems a bit low of them to announce now tbh, with production times etc, surely there is no way they couldn't have known before now!

I was thinking of selling on the bug-fest that is F1 2010 on the basis i'll not play it much once GT5 is out, but maybe i'll hold out for a patch from codies. Let's see which one comes first

Was literally yesterday that it was announced as a delay. I've been quite sanguine about it and just been waiting for the release date to be confirmed. Actually a bit pissed off that they now delay it once more, after the release has been confirmed and in stores for weeks (months?) Surely the product should have been going to press before they confirmed a proper available date to stores?

A mate tried to pre-order the other day and was told the list was closed as there was no official date.

Sadly a delay looks likely..........

http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/112/1128013p1.html

" When announcing Gran Turismo 5's delay yesterday, Sony said the game was still on schedule for release before the end of the year.

Of course, considering how long you've had to wait for this first full PS3 Gran Turismo game, we wouldn't blame you if you were a bit suspicious about this promise.

To alleviate your concerns just a bit, here's what Polyphony president Kazunori Yamauchi had to say on the matter at his Twitter earlier today. A follower ask that he try to get GT5 out before the end of the year. Yamauchi's response was, "I believe we won't keep you waiting until then."

Looks like Yamauchi feels the game is still on track for 2010 release! "
