Thought i'd post this on this board coz of all you car nuts on here. I'm selling my Civic Type R. Been out the car loop for a while, just wondering what are the best site's to put it on for the quickest sale? I've put it on Autotrader and Pistonheads coz i think they are the most popular. Any others worth a shot? Ebay maybe? Any type r forums worth a shout?

I need to try and get a reasonably quick sale to fund my other adventure.

I'm typing this from my phone so cant paste the link, but if anyone knows anyone looking for one, basic speel is, silver 2009 type r, 8000miles, fsh, i'm a bit of a polisher so it's spotless.. Updated 2010 spec with xenons, i pod usb etc.

Listed my Porsche 996 Turbo S about 3 weeks ago on Pistonheads and Autotrader at fixed price..Had about a dozen enquiries via PH, half of whom asked enough to at least show they know what they were looking for, probably 4 of which were genuine potential buyers and 2 of whom wanted to put a deposit on the car to secure a purchase.

Autotrader came up with 2 calls from "We have buyers on our lists for your car, give us £120 and we will tell you who they are ..... yada yada yada" type Canvasers and 2 dodgy emails asking if "the item was available". There was only one semi-serious enquiry asking about the car from Autotrader.... but only from a guy who didn't really use the internet and who read the ad in the magazine (didn't realise folk still read it) and by then the car had sold.

Ph was free :) . Autotrader was £52

The last 5 cars I have sold have been through Pistonheads and I think I have bought 5 out of the last 6 from there as well.

Yep PH worked fine for me with the exige and elise. Not used Autotrader to sell for along time now although I do use it when looking to buy.

Gordon, try http://www.type-r-scotland.com but to be honest PH should do the trick priced right!

Another :thumbsup for PH. Bought and sold quite a few cars through there. Autotrader has it's place for boring mainstream stuff.

I usually pay the £15 for a premium Ad on PH; get's you nearer the start of the listings - don't know if it has helped in any sale though.

Cheers guys.

It seems to be priced in the right ball park for the spec etc and looking at whats avaliable within 100miles. There's a few older pre-updated spec cars on Arnold Clark dealers looking pretty cheap. Just have to sit it out and see what happens. I'm kinda thinking when you get up to the 13grand mark folk tend to go to a dealer for the security and back up.

I think the ad reads ok compared to the others and the cars in flawless condition so any viewers wouldn't find a reason not to buy. See how it goes. Just in the frame of mind now where i have another plan in the pipeline so just want rid of it. :)

I had a squint on the Type R forum but couldn't see a classified section. The chances are though, if your on there you've got one anyway. :D

If it's at all interesting (I'd include Type R in this) - PH - if it's the kind of thing that you don't talk about on forums - Autotrader....
