Elise back from Paint.

As some of you know we have decided to sell the Elise, so put the car back upto Castle Park Autobody to get rid of the chips on the front and sides. I expected them to just paint the front and sides but they wanted me to remove the body work and start again. A lot of work but well worth it.
Had the car over 5 years now, sad to see it go.
Big Thanks to Castle Park Autobody
Alan

As i'm a driving God

and current Kart Start lap record holder. It's going to be a R300 (plenty power for 500kg), i can upgrade the power as my skill level improves.
As soon as the car os sold/money in bank the Caterham will be on order.
Can't Wait

F*cking madness IMHO, but it's your car, so yours to do with as you please...

I really think you will regret selling - it is a truly stunning car

The replacement will need to be very special to justify changing.

Thanks for the support
I drove it home last night and had second thoughts, great car but I want a dedicated track car and a road car so its time for it to go.
The Elise is great but tyres and brakes are double the price compared to a Caterham, and let's be honest I'm not the smoothest and go through a lot of both. I felt like it was going to get ruined being used as it should be. S1 Honda's are going for good money so i'll take advantage of that.
Don't shout at me, I'm not feeling great about this.

The car that got me and Chris into an Elise each. I'll miss getting scared witless in it
Roll on getting scared witless in a Caterham

At least you are not leaving the family, and if you feel the need for a change in usage you have to follow it or you would just be unhappy about it.

You are all so supportive, eh, guy's going through the hardest decision in his life since working out whether to ask Jen to marry him or not (JOKE!!), so give him a break.
Alan, you've taken an amazing journey with your Elise, learned so much and been willing to share all of that incredibly freely. I can see that you need "the next step", or simply a bit of a change. As I said to you once before, if you feel the need to get back to an Elise, you of all people outwith "the professionals" are brilliantly qualified to pick up any scrapper you wish and bring it back to former glory...then take it on a few notches besides
So this is a no-lose scenario, enjoy it.
Looking forward to your Se7en build thread.
Campbell
PS - if you ever miss stripping wishbones etc, you can come and work on mine this winter

looks lovely
Worst case you can simply buy another
Caterham is a cracking laugh though - commuted in mine today.
Oh and great shout on the power vs talent front also - when you can properly drive the wheels off it upgrade
ps - can you do a vtec 7 conversion? An Sc 7 would be epic!

I'm not building one as I can't be arsed. Buying one new from Caterham unless a nice low mileage 2nd hand one becomes available.
Alan
Which nice se'r will give me a shot of a high spec Caterham before I commit to buy, planning on going down but have to order ASAP to ensure ff10 delivery.
