Go Karting Near Inverness NLC

Post by r10crw » Fri May 06, 2011 5:13 pm

Gents were trying to organise a stag doo for my friend and have paintballing just south of Inverness on a sat morning but we are staying in Aviemore. We have a spare in the afternoon and would like to go Karting but having trouble finding anything that would be open on a saturday afternoon and suitable for adults.
Anyone used anything in the area or able to suggest an alternative?
Thanks Craig.

There is one ten minutes from Inverness Craig, but it is for kids.

Elgin kart track closed this week for relocation due to flood alleviation scheme taking their land, quad bikes might be your only alternative in the aviemore area

Thanks guys, managed to sort out gorge walking and rock climbing for the afternoon.
Should be good.
PS Possible opening for someone to do karting in/around inverness?

Craig there was quite a good one in Invergordon but sadly that closed , other option is Golspie sprint track they did hire the track but it was full day only with soup and sarnies and min people ,I am not sure if they are still doing it this year

Thanks bob, got it pretty much sorted now but did look into golspie but was too far.
Next thing is the tricks we need to play on the stag, anyone got any ideas on something remotely original?

I'm working with a friend who is planning to open a go-kart track in Inverness in the near future. If anyone has any experience in running or designing a kart track, I'd appreciate a personal message.

If you like karting, what would you advise for a new kart track? What makes for a good day out? What works for an average punter (not necessarily a petrol head)? Any pitfalls that we should avoid?

Best, PT

My cousin who lives in Inverness has an old ball and chian (think it was nicked from a castle many moons ago) padlock it to the groom.

He cant go anywhere without 2 people giving him a hand, that includes going for a pi55. Only problem is we did get refused from a pub or 2 with it.

Obviously for the paintball you need to strip away his clothes and have him do it naked! It's ritual.

Think its a great idea and will do well if run properly. Keep the carts well maintained and have them as close as possible in performance/handling - always ends in arguments between groups if not. Somewhere where others can view but not in the exhuast fumes. Some form of hot snacks but nothing too fancy and away you go :thumbsup
