Apparently they are designed to come apart like that and leave the passenger cabin intact which so far seems to have happened in most of the Enzo Accidents.

I read on Ferrari chat that he was doing close to 200mph and hit a bump in the road which sent him into orbit. 100mph was misreported I believe -
apparently he drove as it should and had over 30k on the clock!

Yup - at the double-ton on something that generates proper downforce like an Enzo, a bump/dip of any severity could cause major handling issues (like a desire for the car to take a sudden turn of it's own accord.)

Those of whom who have driven at 120mph on (closed private) 2 lane cambered roads know it's actually not as easy as just holding the throttle flat and the steering straight. Try shifting that speed massively up the scale......
