We were at the preview event on Saturday for suppliers / contractors (my wife supplied them with archive film footage).
We only got to see about a third of it but I have to say what I saw of it was a major disappointment.
Having visited the Albert Drive and Kelvin Hall sites literally hundreds of times over the years and working in KH as a student, the thing I loved about it was that you could get right up to ALL the exhibits - the bikes and a lot of the model ships in Riverside are 30ft in the air FFS

- same with a lot of the cars.
The street scene that we saw (which was one of my favourite bits from Kelvin Hall) looks like a Witherspoon’s / O'Neil's pub - its all too new looking and everything is labelled up so that muppets know what is going on with flat screens everywhere. Fingers crossed the other areas are better. I will go back when it opens properly but I'm kinda sad my kids will never get enjoy it in the same way we did.
The Glenlee Tall Ship is ace - although I believe they are going to charge you to get into this.
