Help needed - edinburgh west end housing devel

Post by flip flop » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:14 pm

Hoping somebody can help me here.

Have an elderly client who has asked me to project manage some building works for him on a 1930's bungalow in Blackhall, near Davidsons Mains.

I'm not sure what he wants is best value for money so have suggested some ways I think he'd get better results. As I dont know the Edinburgh market/trades could anybody give me contacts for a local estate agent and an architect(ural technician) pref a homer or self employed type.

Client very receptive so my first point of call is to meet with somebody who knows the area, and the houses to discuss whats feasible and the best development to do to maximise investment. Ie what would sell best? a converted small kitchen to lounge diner (quite modern for a traditional bungalow) or an attic conversion or a full extension.

Im hoping somebody will know a person who could answer most of these things from local experience, there is a high chance of a listing or contract to the right person.

TIA

There are recent examples of each type of the developments you mention round here. I'll have an ask round my local friends to see if anyone has suggestions/ recent experience with architects etc.
