noticed a launch edition Evora at murrrays for less than 40k how can a car like this lose 25k in two years and how low will it go, my S! might be worth more than one in two years :D

MMC prices aren't and never have been lowest out there you can get Evoras for around £35k now I reckon they will be available for 30k during next year but I don't see them falling much below that for a while. A lot of car for the money. :thumbsup

As an Evora owner I suspect that the Evora will be a little like the Europa due to the shortage of cars out there. It is a given that they will lose a bit in their initial years.

However if you think some 2009 Cayman S are going for around £30k (probably with higher miles) then the Evora is not doing as bad as everyone thinks for depreciation. Difference being that the Evora will probably reach a plateau whereas the Cayman will keep on going down.

Yep - don't like losing money on cars but its practically a given but thought of long term ownership rather than short term.

Cheers
George

As Douglas has said, I don't think launch Evoras were anywhere near £65K so perhaps £38K for the Aqua one in Murrays is actually strong money given the colour.

Having a quick read on Lotus Forum and someone put up an argument that I had not thought of, the majority of Evora's for sale (and not selling) are for the "default" longer box and not the close ratio.

If that fact is correct (I have not verified it) glad that I have the CR box.

George

Ps Also CR box will be standard with new model year seemingly.

I am sure I saw this car in their showroom when i bought my Elise. If it is back already, it must be going on for its third owner, because it wasnt new when i saw it. This is bound to affect the price of them, this is still very cheap when you compare it with porsche/audi etc.
Got my hard top by the way, i eventually bottled it and bought it from Craig at MMC.

Launch Edition cars were £59k - £61k depending on paint and wheels.
