Is that for your leaving the RAF hearing check so you cannot claim in the future ? A guy I work with worked on lightnings and they would adjust the afterburner at full power through a small panel in the side of the plane . No ear defenders nothing . His hearing is f&&ked.

You probably know that you can either get a cash sum or a Service Pension if you suffer from loss of hearing incurred in the RAF. Depends on the % loss. This was my first Pension, which actually started 30 years after I left the Royal Marines when we became aware of it, so it is well worth while persuing.

Please tell me more. About 6 months ago I got my hearing checked at local Hospital after finding problems with my hearing recently. It was confirmed that I have damaged hearing. Most likely from spending a lot of time on noisy flightdecks but could be from motorcycling. Might be worth pursuing.tut wrote:Richard
